Outside Art Sketchbooks are GREEN, made from mostly recycled and post-consumer materials. To reduce waste, they do not come with a binding, but can be three-hole punched upon request. It is suggested that teachers and parents encourage a creative, low-carbon, recycled, reused, and/or biodegradable binding solution, if you wish to take the sketchbooks off of the clip-boards. A few creative classes have come up with old telephone wire, old paper-clips and hand-braided fiber to bind their sketchbooks! You could also place them in a reused and student re-decorated three-ring binder.
These sketchbooks are designed to provide guided art activities and lessons that help connect children of all levels and capabilities to nature through art. A resourceful teacher is capable of using the sketchbooks with any age group. The concepts and terminology will be understood by students at their own cognitive level.
